Thank you, Hank, your updates on Facebook make me smile. I spent an enjoyable few minutes looking through our yearbook pictures just now. Though I only spent a year and a half at OCHS, I made friends and memories. Merry Christmas everyone.

Can it really be almost 45 years since we graduated? I just retired from the Clackamas Co Sheriff's Office after 39 years. Time now to try to adjust to a more "normal" lifestyle. Looking forward to seeing some old friends at our 50 year reunion in five years. Hopefully we will have the best turnout ever for this milestone event.

Does anyone remember the raid at a party near the high school in 69? I vaguely remember scattering into the blackberry bushes when the OCPD showed up. (Rory it was your idea) and had to explain the scratches on our legs the next morning LOL!!

Hi everyone, I'm sure most of you will not remember me,I did go to OC all 3 years only to get married as soon as I turned 18 ( big mistake ) then quit school, but went on to get my G.E.D. In grade school I lived by and goofed around with Maureen Billmeyer, Paula Salsbury, Becky Mint, Wendy Sweeney, and I sure would like to get in contact with them again. If anyone knows where these woman may be, please let me know..thanks Joanne.

I just read the book(page was not available when I came in!I just want to thank Hank as well, what a great site, alot of the kids were not in the student lists, Carol Glenn or DeVonna McGrady does anyone know what has become of them? My best memory was of going to a drive in with 6 hiding in the trunk!!!!Or the time Carol tried to teach me the fine art of bowling, I did everything just as she said except I let go when arm went out behind me.... I got a man right in the gut... I wanted to run.. He came down and showed me the right way and he wasn't even mad. I think it took all his strength to keep from wringing my neck. How about Donna Scarborough anyone know where she is??? She taght me the finer things like drinking 1 or 2 fifths of Sloe Gin in a single school day and not showing any signs of it!!!Even the vice Principal couldn't tell. (Mr. Anderson wasn't it)?? I lived out on Springwater Rd as far out of town as you can get bus ride was almost 2 hrs long. You did not want to miss that bus!!! I got married shortly after OCHS and have 6 kids 9 grandchildren and 11 great grands youngest is 9 mos. My husband passed away in 2000 after a 16 yr battle with cancer. I heard that Mike Barrett passed away, does anyone know if that was true he was not on the list. Thanks again for the run down memory lane!!!

We are in a state of hard times, but my hopes are high for 2009. Times have changed in the past 40 years and most of us are here to have seen those changes. The new President has more changes in mind and I feel the energy from my fellow piers, our children and their children. Let's come together for our 40th class reunion and celebrate what we can be greateful for. See you then.

I just found the 'memory book'. Isn't it funny that, the older you get, the more clear memories from the past become? I'm so glad to have the class of '69 to hold on to! And I'm so VERY glad that Hank has kept us in touch! From all of the reunions, to the rebirth of the Staggs (who now play more than 'Gloria'), to the heartfelt 'announcements' when our classmates or teachers pass on, I so appreciate you all. Isn't it funny? We spend our whole life racing away from our 'roots' and, in the end, you are the most important part of our lives! Susie

I felt that I wanted to let everyone know that Lorinda Walker Lyvers, committed suicide on July 31. She has been living in Mesa, AZ for the last 6 years. There has been such sadness in this family. Her husband was found dead in his car in May.....and with both of them gone now, they have a 13 yr old son, James, that needs our prayers. *Lorinda, you may have left this earth--but you are certainly not forgotten. I love you, and will miss you always.*

Since this seems to be the memory pages for all classes surrounding the mighty '69, my memory is from '70. It seems there was to be a pep rally featuring the dancing majorettes. A few industrious classmates comandeered a beat-up pick-up and scoured the hills of Park Place until we located a chained billy-goat. I mean the real bearded, mean, can-eating grand-dad billy-goat. They "kid"-napped billy for his wild ride back to OCHS. He was spirited up the back fire-escape and kept under wraps until the majorettes (conveniently wearing their red outfits) were in the throes of one of their famous line dances. The back stage door opened, billy charged, and pandemonium errupted.

I just ran into Hank Schassen the other day. I didn't recognize him, as he looks a lot older. What's up with that? This website brings back a lot of memories. The only real event I can recal with high school was the time I was working in wood shop, and trying to create a wooden bowl of sorts, and the dang thing got away from me and shot accross the room almost decapitating someone. Needless to say I was not able to successfully complete the project, nor would they let me. It was really a fun time back then if you think about it.

My most memorable time in O.C. was actually when I ran Track at Thora B Gardiner Jr High in 9th grade. I beat the school record in the 220 yd dash even after getting cramps in both legs and falling to the ground at the start. As I was falling I leaned forward and just rolled back to my feet. Seeing I never lost a race in my life ,I wasn't about to lose that race either. I took off like a bat out of hell! Yep , I won the race and beat the school record. Also ran track in O.C.H.S till I had to quit due to having problems with legs cramping. I did however tie the record there. Hmmm wonder if I'm still listed at either school

Hank, thanks for the trip down memory lane. And Dave Crandle I beleive there was a lot of poetic justice that happened at OCHS. I was trying to remember who was hung out the 3rd floor window, and who was responsible for the tarring and feathering of the West Linn Lyon. Jim Cisneros how are your car dashes holding up these days.

Wow! Memories are great. I have so many, and being there walking the halls, once again. Was a refreshing memory for us all. I walked into a classroom, that I had with Mr. Hinds. Diane Staff [Rasmussen], and I sat together, and in her memory, I could see it all, we turned a paper into him. He couldn't fine it,messy desk & all. So we cleaned his desk off,and under all the papers, their was our paper! He still tried to tell us we was late turning it in, but because we cleaned his desk off, he gave in to us. We knew how to work it,not blondes for nothing. Thanks Hank for doing all this! Ole' O.C.H.S. will always have fond memories!

First of all, I want to personally thank Hank for all the work that he has done on this site. Just unbelievable--and told this would happen 35 years ago--I never would have believed! (Of course computers weren't in OUR vocabulary) The first contact that I have had with all of you, was during the "walking tour" 6-07-03. 35 years is a long time. Sorry to say, that MOST of you I didn't recognize--and had to rely on the "name tag". I suppose the most "memorable" time for me--was during sophmore biology..and accidently getting locked out, while "Mr frog" was boiling dry in the pan for an extended time. Wow--the stench....the entire senior wing.. My appologies to all!

I remember a time when Mo and I were sophmore's at OCHS and we decided to wear our skating skirt's to class, only to be told by Mr. Bernard that they were a distraction to the boy's. I don't think the boy's really minded back then. Any way we got sent home to change just like they did us our Freshman year for wearing what they called "Granny dresses". Seems to me that my time at OC was all good and I do miss those time. Anyone know whatever happen to Mr. Nutter. Wanted to thank him for the great grades that I really didn't earn. And it wasn't due to cheating either just to set the record straight.

Here's a memory for 'ya -- what a dork I was! I look at the yearbook and wonder who was that guy? What's with the hair -- and those glasses? Glasses like that would get you arrested as a child molester today. Not that the rest of you looked a whole lot better. My kids (and my wife) get no end of enjoyment from pointing out the hairstyles -- let's face it, many of them wouldn't be safe in a room with a ceiling fan, and the clothes -- I mean I know it rained a lot, but were we all expecting a flood, or what?Just a random Saturday morning note -- mainly to update the e-mail address in my first note. Had to change ISP's -- cuts down on the SPAM, you know....

Thanks Hank for the music and this site. I just downloaded White Bird and sat remembering all the people and all the crazy things we did. Now that I have three teenagers I'm trying NOT to sound like my parents. One of my fondest memories is one of the many times when Dr. Ditto refused to close OCHS during a snow storm. I was on the second floor sitting by the window watching the snow storm when Dr. Ditto pulled up in his car in front of OCHS.He got out of his car and headed toward tne front doors and fell flat on his ass on the slick sidewalk! Now if that wasn't poetic justice, I don't know what is!

Well, many of the old high school memories are either better left unsaid or perhaps better forgotten...Still, there was that time we applied a large bucket of tar & several pillow cases of fluffy feathers to the West Linn Lion right before the big game...As I recall, several of OCHS' more enterprising students participated in that prank...Hank Schassen, Billy McDonald, Dave Hinkle to name a few...Of course, I only assumed a supervisor role in the whole affair...(g>...
